At the Capitol Hill grill this morning, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said Fannie Mae (FNM) and Freddie Mac (FRE) are in no danger of failing. Can you say nationalization? The 'Ville can - and has. Toddo weighs in.

Instead of saving the GSEs, replace them.

Anyone who puts down 20% and can get a licensed appraiser to sign off on the purchase price, gets to borrow directly from Uncle Sam at the 30 year Treasury rate plus 25 basis points.
