The government clearly isn't shy about regulating financial markets, as seen with the bailout of AIG (AIG) and new restrictions on short selling. Is this going to help the market? Toddo thinks it will effect the DNA of the system, but forcing hedge funds to focus more on compliance than trading won't solve the ongoing crisis.

I believe the SEC has overstepped good judgment in the prohibition of short sales. This may help the market temporarily but it seems to me that it only sets up the probability of a huge downdraft when the restrictions are removed.

Is this the "New Deal"; this time for business? Take from the average guy and give to business. If Obama wins and gives tax cuts to middle class, will this offset the break. Cheney must be laughing all the way to his gold stash.
