Quick Hits: Tea Time with Alan Greenspan

Brief scrutiny of today's headlines.

Auctioning Andy Warhol paintings is one thing, but bidding for tea and biscuits with Greenspan gives "tea for two" a whole new meaning.

Reuters reports that the former Federal Reserve Chairman and his wife, NBC correspondent Andrea Mitchell, are up for sale in an online auction to benefit the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial, a human rights advocacy group.

According to Charitybuzz, three people are vying for the prize, currently valued at $16,000. For that price, we're assuming that the tea will be some superior tasting, hybrid Earl Grey.

Still, the bid is surprisingly low in comparison with $32,000 for a big screen debut with Johnny Depp (in the film Public Enemies) and $70,000 for private tennis lessons with Andre Agassi.

Bidding began April 3rd and ends May 7th.

Last year, tea with Greenspan went for $45,000, but there's no word on whether the winner received investment tips.

Tip: If you're looking for financial pointers, a phone call with personal finance pundit Suze Orman is going for $650.
