Stocks to watch for Friday, November 16, 2007:
 

• Agilent Technologies (A) reported fiscal 4Q earnings of $180 mln, or 46 cents a share, up from $149 mln, or 36 cents a share a year ago. Revenue came in at $1.45 bln, up 9% from $1.33 bln a year ago.
• Amazon (AMZN) hopes to introduce technology that allow people to read books in digital form. The company plans to call the device "Kindle" and the so-called "Kindle" editions will be available on the product pages of various books.
• Barclay's (BCS) reported it will write-down $2.67 bln in charges related to U.S. subprime mortgages. The British bank was expected to report a larger loss, which had sent shares down in recent trading.
• BEA Systems (BEAS) reported a $56 mln profit, or 13 cents a share compared with with $35.1 mln, or 8 cents a share a year ago. Revenue for the company came in at $384.4 million for the quarter, compared to $347.7 million.
• Google (GOOG) plans to enter into the cellphone industry, possibly by purchasing its own wireless network. At the Federal Communication Commissions auction in January, the company could bid $4.6 bln or higher to purchase wireless spectrum for mobile phone service and Internet.
• Intuit (INTU) reported a fiscal 1Q loss of $20.8 mln, or 6 cents a share, from a loss of $58.9 mln, or 17 cents a share a year earlier. The company's revenue rose 27% to $444.9 million from $350.5 million last year, attributed to strength in its small business unit and from purchased company Digital Insight.
• Kohl's (KSS) reported 3Q net income of $194 mln, or 61 cents a share, down from $224.5 mln or 68 cents a share a year ago. Sales rose 4.8% to $3.83 billion.
• Starbucks (SBUX) reported fiscal 4Q net income of $159 bln, or 21 cents a share, up from $117 mln, or 15 cents a share a year ago. Revenue at the company rose 22% to $2.4 billion. The company cut its 2008 financial targets due to continued consumer weakness and rising commodity prices.
